BELOVED TRADITION
"Where we come from...because only those who have roots can bear fruit!"
Our roots lie in the traditional agriculture of the Lower Bavarian Gäuboden.
Alfons Buchner, founder of the Straubing canning and sauerkraut factory, came from one of the largest estates in the region. From an early age, his profound knowledge and basic understanding of the main raw material of his products grew with him.
In 1962 he started preserving the good regional crops. At first, he used the rooms of an agricultural homestead in his native village of Ittling near Straubing for this purpose.
In the mid-1960s, the first halls were already built in Straubing-Sand.
In 1971, he took the courageous step to the current location in Straubing Sand. There he had room for the successful expansion of his company.
In the mid-1990s, the port of Straubing-Sand was developed in our direct vicinity.
This confirmed our good choice of location. Today, we are located in the middle of a high-quality industrial park with trimodal connections. Conveniently located on the A3 and A92 motorways and still in the heart of our growing region.
In 2001, Alfons Buchner's daughter Simone Buchner joined the company. Since 2011, Simone Buchner-Köck and her husband Jochen Köck have been running the solid family business in a beloved tradition.
