BELOVED TRADITION: Roots that carry the future
The roots of the Straubing canning factory lie in the traditional agriculture of the Lower Bavarian Gäuboden region.
In 1962, Alfons Buchner founded the company on a former farmstead and relocated it to Straubing-Sand in 1971. There, he had the space for the successful expansion of his business.
Since 2011, the founder's daughter, Simone Buchner-Köck, and her husband, Jochen Köck, have led the established family business in keeping with cherished traditions.
Responsibility in Times of Change
Corporate sustainability means demonstrating foresight, even in challenging times.
In 2025, changes in essential location factors necessitated a bold decision regarding the Straubing production site: closing it after more than 60 years of successful family business history.
With grateful appreciation for what had been achieved together, it was essential to find a responsible and sustainable solution for the people and companies that had long been associated with the business.
Cooperation as a Bridge to the Future
A sustainable future concept has developed from the long-standing, trusting partnership with the company Süko in Pfarrkirchen, Lower Bavaria.
Thanks to the shared growing region and the same corporate culture, the decision to continue producing the "Straubinger Konserven" brand there according to the proven recipe was an easy one, thus preserving the cans featuring the Straubing city tower for the loyal customer base.
